I'm seconding what Guthrie said. A lot of it has to do with what the animation itself looks like, but plot could help as well. Keep sharpening your craft.

Yeah, but that's...pretty much the way of the world. With time and patience comes experience, but only if you're willing to hang in there and keep at it.
Besides, hype is way overrated. And so is popularity, for that matter. Diligence and discipline might not be pretty words, but they'll get you where you need to go.
